S. Mohinder Singh MakhanMakhan Fish and Chicken Shop the Original Makhan in Amritsar was started by S. Mohinder Singh Makhan (Real Owner Of Makhan Fish) in March, 1991 with a small Khokha (stall) that was located at Lawrence Road, Amritsar. The recipe and technique of making amritsari fish was inherited from his father. Before starting at Lawrence Road S. Mohinder Singh Makhan worked with his father for almost 16 Years.In this spam of time he didn’t only learned the technique but also mastered in making fish in Amritsar and Makhan fish. After coming to Lawrence road in 1991, within 6 month's Fish of Makhan (Mohinder) didn’t only get popular in the local region, but also get popularity throughout the whole Punjab and as well as in whole India. In Year 1993 Makhans Fish also called as Amritsari Fish and also get listed in Lonely Planet Traveler’s Book as one of the best cuisine and Best Place to Eat Fish in Amritsar and in whole North India. Due to the popularity of Makhan Fish, first video recording of the great taste of Amritsari Fish or Makhan chicken was aired through BBC & DD1 Channels in Years 1996 & 2001. It had been more over than 17 Years (1991-2008) Fish of Makhan was on the taste bud of every fish lover. Due to some family dispute S. Mohinder Singh Makhan (The Orignal Owner of Makhan Fish) had to shut down the business in 2009. Since then people have been using the name of Makhan coming from same family background, But could not provide the taste of the Real Makhan Fish. Due to high demand of our Fish Lovers Real Makhan came back in the business in 2014 at Old Jail Road, Basant Avenue, Opp. Trillium Mall, and Amritsar. Within few months of business, our loyal customers has come back to enjoy the real Amritsari Fish at Real Makhan Fish Old Jail Road, Basant Avenue, Opp. Trillium Mall, Amritsar. At our restaurant our customers can enjoy both veg and non-veg dishes.
